I can't wait to read these. I love singles and they interest me just as much as albums. Not so much nowadays but like from the 60s through the 90s. I have made singles lists for every year going back to 1960. And I see that you have my number one single of all time A Whiter Shade of Pale. At first it just topped my list of greatest singles of the 60s, but now it's moved up to my greatest single of all time. You got a whole bunch more that I love too. along with a lot that I never heard of.
ReplyDeleteSee? I wasn't lying.

They are singles that have become embedded in my memories, and they are not necessarily credible. In fact, some are incredibly cheesy! I hope you enjoy reading about them.
ReplyDeleteSome great choices in your list - Hang On Sloopy, Spirit In The Sky, Good Lovin', All Right Now, Polk Salad Annie, On The Road Again....
ReplyDeleteI got to cut it down though to an even 1,000. I let a friend of mine add some songs to it and now it's about 1,070. Or else maybe try to reach 1500.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I don't attempt such lists! Also, I find it very difficult to rate one above another. Lots of songs have their good points and one day I will prefer one above another one, then vice versa.
ReplyDeleteYeah I know. I actually agree with that. But I'm like a compulsive list maker. I have been since I was a real little kid. I can't help myself. LMAO
ReplyDeleteOur friend Aphoristical's site is excellent for lists, as you know. The closest I get to lists are my playlists which can be accessed from the top of the page options. You might find those interesting.
ReplyDeleteI hope my 45 RPMs aren't too personal at the expense of the music, by the way. I have written about them slightly differently to how I write for albums.
Yeah. I've put lists all over his site, even on posts that weren't even about lists. I just put them anywhere I could. ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna check out your playlists.
