Hot Chocolate - You Sexy Thing: The Best Of Hot Chocolate

Hot Chocolate were notable, before their mid-late seventies/early eighties soul pop domination, for being a pioneer multi-racial band, like the Equals before them. There have been several "Best Of/Greatest Hits" compilations over the years, but this is by far the best of them, covering virtually everything in the career of this remarkably successful chart group. The sound quality is excellent throughout as well.

Why i feel this is superior to other collections is that it includes the underrated and (in my view) just as essential lesser-known songs such as the profound "Changing World"; the soulful "Blue Night"; the funky "Rumours" and the catchy pop of "Disco Queen". Of course, all the well-known huge hits are here too - "You Sexy Thing"; "You Win Again"; "It Started With A Kiss" (Alan Partridge's favourite); "Heaven Is in The Back Seat Of My Cadillac"; the lyrically bizarre "No Doubt About It" and the ground-breaking anti-racism song, "Brother Louie".

Other lesser-known highlights are the beautiful "I'll Put You Together Again"; the poppy "Cheri Babe"; the moving "Man To Man" and the "Sexy Thing" re-make of "Don't Stop It Now". Overall, this is a highly recommended, most enjoyable collection.
